HISTORY OF ACTION TRAINERS

In the early 1960s, Don Gordon revolutionized the gymnastics world by inventing the first foam landing mats, incline mats, octagons and all the other foam shapes that currently fill gymnastic schools. Gordon also invented the foam landing pits for pole-vaulters and high jumpers used in all Track and Field competitions including the Olympic Games since 1968. Gordon has over 300 products on the market and holds approximately 40 patents, including one on the very popular tumble track.
Since then, very little innovation has occurred in the gymnastics field, until now . Action Trainers by Gordon's A.P. Inc are the next generation of mats and training tools. Best of all, they perform better and are more versatile than traditional foam products.
Don always felt that foam was a good material for the job, but it was bulky, expensive and lost its absorbing properties over time. He thought air would be a good alternative and, in fact, tried many types of air-response designs before discovering the unique material now used in Action Trainers' Strength-Max Construction.
For those of you not familiar with the name, Don Gordon was a champion gymnast and coached at both the high school level and at Brigham Young University.
